hmd Group are committed to supplying products and services of the highest quality.

The goal of hmd group is to achieve external and internal customer satisfaction.

The directors are committed to the support of management and operating systems to realise that goal.

The quality policy is based on the following four fundamental principles:

Conform to and where possible exceed customer requirements

Focus on prevention of problems and continuous improvement

Get it right first time and strive for continuous improvement has made a significant impact on our business over the past 10 years.

Improve the management of quality by reducing the cost of non-conformance and the eventual cost of getting it right.

The principles of our quality policy will be communicated internally and externally to our employees, customers and suppliers.

Training, development and education will be provided where necessary to ensure that the relevant knowledge and experience is acquired to successfully implement this policy.

All processes in the production chain from quotation to despatch are covered by quality assurance procedures. The account management team oversee product quality. All are print trade experienced personnel. On receipt of artwork, files for each job are "flight checked" to ensure the artwork is complete. Contact is made with the sender to rectify any evident problems at this stage to minimise any future delays and costs. The agreed type of proof for the job is produced and the content checked for text, layout and colour matches and where appropriate against the clients corporate guidelines prior to submission for customer approval. We ensure that client approval is obtained before any further production work is instructed; all proofs are sent with a proof approval document, electronic or hard copy. The job does not proceed further without signed client approval.

When ready to run the production supervisor and / or account manager checks and signs off jobs at this stage. The signed proof will be stored within the job record file. This is the final check for copy, content, positioning and colour correctness. Customers are welcome to undertake press passes on any of their print jobs.

Continuous quality checks are administered while the job is on press. The machine operator, production supervisor or the account manager take out press pulls at frequent intervals. These are checked for correctness against the initial press pass sheet. The account managers carry out quality checks prior to despatch or storage of the finished product. All delivery instructions are double-checked before despatch. This provides us with a complete production record for any subsequent productions.

The Quality Policy is the concern of all employees.
